Sky Sports took the rights to broadcast Formula 1 away from the BBC earlier this year, and it has come down to December to announce their hosting line up.
The line up see's a number of people "transferring" to the new channel, which will see more Formula 1 than ever before with mid-week shows and re-plays.
The Sky Sports F1 team will be based around the coverage before hand, with Simon Lazenby hosting the coverage before and after the race. He will be joined by the other team members.
The commentary team is very strong, with Martin Brundle being paired with David Croft from 5LiveF1 for the race. For the practise sessions Croft will be reunited with Anthony Davidson.
The pitlane is a buzz of excitement full of news and stories to break, for 2012 Natalie Pinkham will be joined by Ted Kravitz. Both are transferring from the BBC team leaving their roles empty, we wait now for further information on the BBCF1 team.
Steve Rider will host a show on the F1 channel about the F1 legends and will see him interview and look back on past events.
A "magazine show" has also been announced with Ted Kravitz and Georgie Thompson hosting. This will be part of their package for all Sky Sports and Sky customers.
In my opinion I will have to wait until the first race to see it in action, but with Sky's larger budget there will be plenty more high-spec features and the coverage will have a much better quality. It will also offer more F1 during the week and a whole channel dedicated to F1 sounds good to me.
Ted and Natalie both have experience and were great last year, Steve Rider is back and I've always found him a little boring but maybe times have changed. Croft and Brundle, and Croft and Davidson, sound like dream commentary teams and will give incredible insight into the races. I also hope more interactiveness for the fans becomes involved like the 5LiveF1 tweet read outs and more involvement for fans.
Overall the line up is very strong but March will show how good it really is.
