Zoom book provides fascinating insight into the lives of F1 stars

Following the success of the fourth Zoom F1 Charity Auction last month, a book containing snapshots from the lives of F1 drivers, team principals and personalities has now gone on sale.
The book provides fans with a brilliant look into the lives of the F1 circus away from the race tracks.

The Zoom F1 Charity Auction took place in central London on the 5 February, raising money for the Great Ormond Street Children’s Charity. It raised thousands of pounds for charity, with Lewis Hamilton’s “Roscoe in Rome” photo raising £3,000 – the most of the night.

Now, following on from the success of the auction, the official book has been released and is available to buy online. It features all of this year’s auction photos, as well as descriptions of all of the snaps – some of which are more detailed than others.

The Zoom images give fans a good insight into the favourite places and locations of F1 stars, as well as their pets, encounters and experiences during the season and artwork – yes, Graeme Lowdon is a very talented artist, in case you didn’t know.

Whether it is the stunning sunset view from the house where Valtteri Bottas lives in Finland, a selfie with team members or a picture of Sergio Perez’s dogs, it is a great way for fans to get a behind-the-scenes look at F1 drivers, bosses and personalities both at the track and away from it. And most importantly, it's all for a really good cause.

Which picture is my favourite of the lot? Fernando Alonso’s photo of sunset in Dubai (which he stressed was taken on his iPhone) is brilliant, as is Kimi Raikkonen’s close-up shot of a little ice hockey player some Ferrari team members painted and put on his antenna.

There are quite a few good photos, but I’d probably say my favourite is the picture taken by Claire Williams. She captured a brilliant shot of the Monza podium, with streamers and confetti flying as Felipe Massa collected his third place trophy. A great image and one with a lot of emotion and importance behind it for the photographer.
