Kimi Raikkonen was fastest for Ferrari, putting in the best time of the four-day event on the soft Pirelli compound.

Like day three, conditions were damp and slippery at the start of the session following overnight rain. The wet and intermediate tyres were used early on, with Marcus Ericsson putting in the first timed lap.

The track soon dried out and drivers quickly moved onto slicks. Raikkonen ended the morning at the top of the timesheets, before improving in the afternoon with a 1:20.841. It was the quickest lap of the whole test, bettering Sebastian Vettel's day two effort by one tenth.

The Finn set the time with one hour and 30 minutes of the session remaining. He completed 106 laps in total, concluding a positive first test of the SF15-T for Ferrari.

Ericsson was second for Sauber after a late improvement, finishing 1.2 seconds behind Raikkonen. The Swedish driver managed 11 laps and brought out a late red flag with just a few minutes left on the clock after running out of fuel.

The session had only just got going again after a DRS marker board being blown onto the track caused the third stoppage of the day. Daniil Kvyat and Lewis Hamilton brought out the first two red flags, after an ERS failure and a spin respectively in the morning.

Hamilton ended the day third and managed 117 laps. Max Verstappen enjoyed another productive day driving the Toro Rosso STR10 and finished fourth, ahead of Felipe Massa. The Brazilian completed 73 laps of the Jerez circuit at the wheel of the Mercedes-powered Williams FW37.

Romain Grosjean got his first taste of the new E23, after a delay getting the car to the test meant Lotus missed the opening day. He managed 53 laps before a power unit problem cut short his running.

Kvyat was seventh fastest on his second day driving the Red Bull RB11. Following his limited running on Monday after breaking the team's only available front wing, it was a much better session. He completed 64 laps despite losing track time due to the ERS failure.

It was a day of contrasts for McLaren. After a positive start, with Jenson Button setting the Honda-powered MP4-30's best lap of the test (a 1:27.660) and managing 35 laps, the Woking-based outfit was forced to start packing up early after a fuel pump issue.

The next winter test takes place at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya from the 19-22 February. Force India confirmed today that it will be there, but with its 2014 car.
