Testing resumed at the Barcelona circuit, a busy day for many as drivers pounded round the demanding track, trying to learn as much as possible.
The lap times fell dramatically after day 1's "green" and fresh track, but after the previous days issues it was a rather trouble free day for many.
So who was racing around on track? Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull), Fernando Alonso (Ferrari), Sergio Perez (McLaren), Kimi Raikkonen (Lotus), Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), Nico Hulkenberg (Sauber), Paul Di Resta (Force India), Valtteri Bottas (Williams), Daniel Ricciardo (Toro Rosso), Charles Pic (Caterham) and Max Chilton (Marussia).
After blasting around on a low heat in Jerez and on the first day of testing in Barcelona, McLaren turned the wick up to full with Sergio Perez topping the time sheets on day two.
The Mexican was the first and only driver of the test so far to dip below the 1m22's, with a 1m21.848. It was set slap bang in the middle of the afternoon session, on the soft tyre. 97 laps meant it was a productive and largely trouble free day for Perez. In contract, second fastest man Sebastian Vettel had his first break down of the tests.
After a few long stints on the soft tyre, and a quick three lap run that saw him set a time just three tenths slower than Perez's, his car ground to a halt at the exit of the pit lane. This was with just 45 minutes left of the days testing, but meant he missed out on the busiest period of the day. 84 laps was still a respectable and healthy tally.
Kimi Raikkonen ended the day third fastest, but also endured a troublesome day. He turned to spectating for much of the morning after the team found a gearbox problem. Once back on circuit though, he made up for lost time and ended the day eighth tenths off Perez, but on the medium tyre.
His 43 laps looked average for a day of testing, but when compared to fourth fastest man Lewis Hamilton's tally it looked minuscule. The Brit took over from Nico Rosberg in the W04 and completed 121 laps, his best being eighth tenths off the top time set by his replacement at McLaren.
Hamilton's lap time was set on the hard tyre, and was a commendable effort. Fernando Alonso was the fifth fastest man of the day, around five tenths off Hamilton's best effort. It was the second of three days in the car for Alonso, and he completed 76 laps.
Valtteri Bottas had his first run in the Williams FW35 and looked fast, ending the day sixth. He completed 96 laps, but his best time was set on the soft tyre. However the team looked up beat, especially with the reliability of the new car.
Daniel Ricciardo was next up in the Toro Rosso, continuing to impress, if not slightly under the radar. He ended the day 1.8 seconds off Perez, and completed 70 laps in the STR8. Paul Di Resta rounded out his testing for the week with eighth fastest, completing 62 laps.
Sauber debuted their rear wing stalling device, otherwise known as passive double DRS, and spent most of the day working on that. Hulkenberg was in the car and completed 88 laps, his best on the medium tyre being 2.3 seconds slower than Perez's effort.
Max Chilton completed 67 laps in the Marussia MR02, a lower figure in comparison to the rest but still plenty more than 2012's winter programme. He did cause the only red flag of the day after pulling off the track in the days closing stages.
Charles Pic was yet again slower than Chilton in the Marussia, 3.2 and 4.3 seconds down respectively, but managed to pass a century of laps. He completed 102 and set his best time of 1m26.243 on the medium compound Pirelli tyre.
A new face at the top of the time sheets, McLaren showing their pace yet again. However Lotus look strong too, and Red Bull suffered their first issue of the winter tests.
