Lewis Hamilton has hushed rumours of a possible move to Mercedes for 2013.
Rumours of Hamilton's future beyond 2012 have been spreading like wildfire, with new reports suggesting McLaren are contacting other drivers (Like Perez) if he does leave the Woking team.
The current McLaren drivers future has been the talking point of the F1 paddock after BBC F1 pundit Eddie Jordan said the negotiations between Mercedes and Hamilton were true.
However Hamilton himself has hushed the paddock by claiming the rumours are untrue. Speaking after an exhibition race in Mumbai, he said ""I think we're all wise enough to understand that people write things and that what is written is not necessarily what is true, there's a lot of speculation, there's a lot of stories that aren't true."
Lewis stressed that his sole focus is on winning the 2012 world championship, which Alonso currently leads with 7 races still to go. He said "I've been with the team since I was 13 and we've worked so hard since 2009 to try and win this championship and hopefully, finally, we're in the position where we can.
So the most important thing is that I do not get distracted by all the rubbish that's been around."
He added on the subject of next year "I don't have a time line, my focus is on trying to win this world championship."
The paddock is buzzing with rumours right now, but I doubt Hamilton's comments will stop them. He has 2 choices and the only person who knows the right decision is him.
