My favourite driver.....
My favourite driver is Mark Webber. I guess I am a little biased though - I have been fortunate enough to have met him in several different environments - in the factory, at Silverstone, a sponsor event and even a local leisure centre!! No matter where or when Mark has always been down to earth, friendly and approachable.
When watching Mark drive his passion, dedication, determination and sheer inner fire is evident. Not being afraid to try and overtake his team mate even if it may result in clashing is the sign of a true racer at heart. I respect Mark for not wanting to play the team orders game. That's just not racing to me.
I admire Marks often brutal honesty. He answers any questions honestly and from the heart - remember Silverstone 2010? "Not bad for a number 2 driver". How many other drivers would have been that open about how they felt? Did Rubens ever say as much at Ferrari?
So enough of the personal mushy stuff and on to the stats. 170 races, 6 wins, 26 podiums. Not bad for a number two driver! Especially one who has fought his way up (not been picked at 10 years old and groomed for F1 like one other i wont mention) Come on Mark - show Seb he should respect his elders!!!
Yours faithfully,
