F1 2015 winter testing concluded at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Sunday.
Next stop, Australia. It was a busy final day of running, with Valtteri Bottas setting the fastest time for Williams.
Felipe Nasr, Nico Rosberg and Sebastian Vettel were the first to take to the track on Sunday morning. Masr set the opening timed lap, a 1:45.530, with eight of the nine drivers emerging from the pit lane in the early stages.
Rosberg and Vettel traded fastest times, before the former established a strong advantage with a 1:25.277 on the medium compound. Mercedes opted to use the final day evaluating the hard and medium Pirelli tyres.
The first red flag emerged one hour and 15 minutes into the morning, after Daniel Ricciardo stopped at the end of the pit lane with an ERS problem. The Aussie lost a considerable amount of time out on track while the issue was resolved.
Later in the morning, Bottas moved to the front on the prototype, unmarked medium compound. He then switched to the super-softs and went fastest with a 1:23.063. Jenson Button emerged on track for the first time in the final minutes of the session, completing two laps before the lunch break.
Bottas was the first to take to the track in the afternoon. The red flag returned 13 minutes into the session after a brake issue caused Pastor Maldonado to crash at turn four, ending the Lotus team's day early. Nasr was the first to pass the 100-lap mark.
Williams completed its programme and ended the day early, with Bottas remaining fastest, managing 89 laps in total on Sunday. Vettel was second, four tenths further back. The four-time champion lapped the track 129 times.
Nasr enjoyed a productive day, completing 159 laps and finishing third. Despite causing a red flag during the afternoon session after stopping at turn 12, Max Verstappen returned to the track and set the fourth fastest time with 87 laps on the board.
Ricciardo recovered from the RB11's earlier ERS problem to finish fifth, boosting his lap count to 77. Sergio Perez got his first taste of Force India's new VJM08, setting the sixth fastest time and completing 130 laps - 18 less than Rosberg's tally. The German ended the day seventh on the timesheets, with Button in eighth - managing 30 laps - and Maldonado completing the results.
