Stats and facts from the Jerez test

The first winter test of the 2014 season came to an end on Friday. Results varied for the 10 teams in attendance, with some gaining plenty of mileage and others struggling to even emerge from the pits.

It was certainly intriguing, although we can't read into it too much - but I'll save my thoughts for another blog post. Here, I take a look at the combined times, stats and facts from the four-day event.

The quietest day of on-track action was Tuesday, with just 93 laps being completed. In contrast, the busiest session took place on Friday with 668 laps.

Teams had 25 sets of Pirelli tyres to use over the four-day test, with 18 being allocated by the Italian supplier and seven additional sets being selected by the teams. In total, 135 sets of tyres are allowed for testing - per team - in 2014.

22 drivers took part in the test - 20 race and two reserve - with 1,470 laps being completed all together (6,509 kilometres). That is over half the total laps from the 2013 test. 

The highest ambient temperature over the four days was 17 degrees, with the lowest being five degrees. Track temperature was similarly cold, with the top temperature being 23 degrees and the lowest being just six degrees.
