Top 5 F1 driver advert appearances

For big businesses sponsoring Formula 1 teams, putting drivers in TV adverts is a great ways to promote their products.
However, some of these advertisements are better than others. Here, I take a look at my top five F1 driver advert appearances, from the hilariously funny to the awkward and embarrassing.

This is just a bit of fun prior to the F1 2014 season getting underway. What are your favourites? Let me know on Twitter, Facebook, Google+ or comment below.

1) Jenson Button - Head and Shoulders

That pesky helmet must play havoc with a racing driver's hair. Thankfully Head and Shoulders comes to the rescue. I'm a big fan of Jenson, but this was just hilariously awkward. Good on him for giving it a go though.

He isn't the only world champion to appear in adverts for the hair care product either:

2) Damon Hill and Murray Walker - Pizza Hut

Where do legendary F1 commentators and world champions go to eat? Yep, Pizza Hut. I love this advert so much, mostly because of Murray - he is just brilliantly funny.

3) Nigel Mansell - Austin Metro

A racing driver advertising a car, that seems to make sense. Here is Nigel Mansell advertising the box that was the Austin Metro, before then crashing it into a certain someone who has already been mentioned in this countdown...

4) Jenson Button - Santander

These adverts are on all the time. I mean, literally every single ad break. Well, it seems that way. Both of these are slightly creepy and rather awkward, making them hilariously funny.

5) Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg - Mercedes

This advert is brilliantly done, but I would have liked to see a bit more acting from Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher. Mercedes love to put racing drivers in their adverts, and this is one of the funnier ones. I don't think they could have picked a cheesier storyline.
