Just as McLaren were launching their MP4-29, Lotus decided to get in on the action and release the first images of their E22.
The car, which won't be at the first test in Jerez, will be driven by Romain Grosjean and Pastor Maldonado this season.
The posts, which were shared on their social networks, came after the announcement that Eric Boullier has left the team with immediate effect.
He will be replaced as team principal by Gerard Lopez, who is also the co-chairman of the team.
The E22 features an unusual new nose design that has not been seen on rival cars, following similar reveals from Force India and Williams. One of the double 'tusks' is slightly longer than the other, making it the nose tip that meets the regulations.
The car also features a revised livery design and new sponsorship from YotaPhone and PDVSA.
It will not be at the Jerez test and will be officially launched prior to the second test in Bahrain. Many believe the team will immediately be on the back foot because of this.
