The Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team has confirmed the poaching of two senior engineers from rivals Red Bull Racing.
The internal restructuring of the team continues, with the two new signings being the first under the leadership of executive directors Toto Wolff and Paddy Lowe.
After losing head of aero Peter Prodromou to McLaren, Adrian Newey has now lost two further staff to rivals after Mercedes announced that Mark Ellis and Giles Wood will join the team in June 2014.
Ellis, who was previously head of vehicle dynamics, and Wood, chief engineer for simulator/analysis, will both move to brand new roles created within the 'Silver Arrows'.
Wood will become the team's chief engineer, simulator and development, while Ellis will take up the role of performance director.
Both have worked at Red Bull for over five years and have experience with BAR Honda and McLaren respectively.
Meanwhile team principal Ross Brawn's final day at the team is closing in. He announced his departure from Mercedes in late November and will take some time off before accessing his options in the summer.
