The flying Finn was struck down by food poisoning and had to sit out of testing on day three.
He was struck down with the sickness bug early on Saturday morning. Due to concerns over his physical state, it was decided that he would sit out of Saturday's session.
Team-mate Romain Grosjean had just completed his two days of running and left the circuit, heading home for a few days rest before visiting the teams headquarters in Enstone.
Team Boss Eric Boullier told Autosport that he had been recalled to the Circuit de Catalunya and jumped in the E21 for the afternoon session.
Davide Valsecchi drove the car on Saturday morning, before duties switch over to Grosjean for the remaining one and a half days.
Raikkonen returned to the car on Sunday but Grosjean was on stand by just in case.
