Nico Hulkenberg has revealed that he is excited by the team switch from Force India to Sauber for 2013.
The German had a successful 2012 season, with rumours circulating mid-season about a possible move to Ferrari or McLaren.
However Hulkenberg decided to make the sideways switch to Sauber, a team who showed huge amounts of promise in 2012. This season saw the team score four podiums, and with limited rule changes for 2013 the prospects look promising.
He said “I will simply concentrate on my job of trying to deliver good results.”
“There is no warm-up phase anymore, so I personally hope that I start performing right at the point where I finished at the end of 2012 – and that was a very promising point,” he said.
“I am changing teams so there will be a ‘getting to know each other’ phase but I am confident that this will go smoothly.”
He also paid tribute to his Force India team, whom he has a very successful year with. “For me it has been a great year with Force India,
“I will keep so many good memories from 2012.”
Many regard him as one of the sports rising stars, he will be hoping Sauber can continue their strong form this season in 2013.
