F1 Gift Guide

Everyone is always telling me that I'm so difficult to buy for purely based on the fact that the only thing I want is F1 stuff. However, there are loads of great F1 gifts out there. So I have compiled a guide to help you find some great gifts for yourself or an F1 fan.

Thinking about that gave me an idea, how about creating a gift guide with some great F1 gifts. Lots of Formula 1 Gifts have caught my eye, so why don't I share them? I also want to help you guys find some awesome gifts and hopefully make searching for them a bit easier. If your too late for Christmas, why not get them for yourself or a birthday? I hope my guide helps you find some good deals and products.

WTF1

WTF1 is a hilarious Formula 1 blog that brings a lighter side to the sport. I love and have followed the "alternative F1 Blog" for some time and have occasionally used some of their stuff on my very own Blog. As well as the funny posts, pictures and videos they also have an official store with tonnes of creative and fun F1 stuff. Here are a few of my favourites.

Jenson Button Celebration (White Writing) by wtf1

This "Ted Kravitz Appreciation Society T-Shirt" is a design that you may recognise. 2012 world champion Sebastian Vettel gave this T-Shirt to Ted during filming for a Sky Sports F1 feature. Kravitz is a big part of the sport for UK fans and has huge amounts of knowledge and passion for F1. You can get the design in a range of different colours, at the reasonable price of £15.99.

They also do hoodies as well, in pullover and zip up styles. These come in more neutral colours but there's certainly no shortage of designs to choose from. I particularly like this "Jenson Button Celebration" one due to his gesturing of the word "Winner" with his hands and the fact that I am a Button fan. The price for this is £28.63, a precise price but one that undercuts high street brands. This is more of a serious design, but there are some funny and hilarious ones too. Check their store out here.

Grand Prix Merchandise

GPM are partners of the blog and I chose them for a reason, they have some of the best F1 Merchandise out there. They also have fantastic customer service and a wide range of products to suit all racing fans. They not only store F1 Merchandise, they also have other team collections like Aston Martin Racing and Monster Energy.

A Jenson Button Fan? With the Brit staying at McLaren for another year, why not show your support for him and get his official "Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Jenson Button Cap" at Grand Prix Merchandise. Its priced at £23.95, a reasonable rate in comparison to competitors.

Show your support for your favourite drivers at GPM, who stock many of the teams official team kit. These range from Caterham, to Lotus and Mercedes.

As well as team clothing, they also supply accessories too like lanyards and this "Lotus F1 Team Mug". You can get it at a great price, for just £14.95. Remember that once the 2013 season draws closer you could also snap up some fantastic deals!

Pirelli Collection

This is a fantastic and unique collection of items that is only available to buy on the official F1 store. They are exclusive items that are hugely popular and sell out fast! They range from caps to key rings, all at reasonable prices. They will certainly make a great gift for an F1 fan.

Out of all the items available in the collection, I definitely think the "Pirelli Wristband Collection" is the best value. It is also my favourite item in the collection. They are 6 black wristbands, with each one having a different tyre compound on. They come in the official 2012 Pirelli tyre compound colours, so Super Soft is Red and Intermediate is Green. Not only are they good value, they are also a good way of showing you are a fan of the sport without having to be decked out fully in team gear. They are also good for wearing casually too, and you can colour match with your clothes! They are a pretty cool item and currently are selling for just £9 in the F1Store, 10% off the original price.

They also sell cool key rings and iPhone covers as well, all in the different compound colours.

Unlap

Not only do they have some fantastic designs and sets, they are all at reasonable prices and the site has great customer reviews. Even Sky F1's David Croft and ex-SPEEDF1 pit reporter Will Buxton are fans.

Unlap: http://www.unlap.co.uk/

One of my particular favourite collections is the "Mini Drivers" series, where BTCC and F1 drivers are transformed in to cool cartoons. Unlap have got a huge range of items in this collection, you can get every 2012 BTCC Driver and every 2012 F1 Driver on individual items like coasters, mouse mats, T-Shirts, Hoodies and Mugs. There are also full grid designs too.

The mug above is one of my favourites, the full F1 2012 Grid in cartoon form. You can also get them individually as either their car or themselves. The design is so original and there is nothing else like it out there.

They also have a section of their website named "Funny", and some of the designs certainly made me chuckle. A few of my particular favourites are the Kimi Raikkonen designs, with the now iconic "I know what I'm doing" phrase. What makes these products so good are the value for money. For example mugs are £8, T-Shirts are £14, with all of the items being well made and unique. There's also something for everyone, with a massive range of designs and things to choose from. I could scroll through them all for hours.

Season Review

You can not go wrong with the official "Season Review Book or DVD", particularly after such a fantastic and dramatic 2012 season. Strangely, the DVD is not out till the 7th January 2013 but it will be worth the wait. The book is out and at the now discounted price of £29.75 on Amazon (it may have changed by the time you read this) it is a great buy. I'm an avid collector of season review books, I have seven of the previous publications. I love reading back and reminiscing about the past seasons.

It is the same with the DVD. It has great commentary from Will Buxton and Ben Edwards and is great value at £13.99. However the DVD makers have lost out massively on not getting it completed by Christmas, but with the season going on well in to November I would rather quality over a rushed piece of work. You can pre-order it on Amazon though. They are definite must haves for F1 fans, especially after the cracking season we have just witnessed.

Books

Jake Humphrey's "The Inside Track" is a book written by the exiting BBCF1 Presenter, sharing his experiences of working in the sport. It is fascinating to read about his experiences and the things that he was lucky enough to do. People often say to him that he has the "best job in the world" and he certainly shows that in the book. Despite it being aimed towards the slightly casual viewer, the book is also enjoyable for F1 fanatics. I certainly learnt a few things about the sport and thoroughly enjoyed reading it. You can get it on Amazon for the discounted price of £9.31 which is slightly more realistic compared to the original price when it was first put out on to the shelves.

Adam Parr is Williams F1 Team's ex CEO and after five years in the position he stepped down. Now he has released a graphic memoir of his time in the sport, with exciting and realistic cartoon pictures detailing his time as CEO of Williams. It is one of a kind and limited edition. Named "The Art of War - Five Years in Formula 1" it tells the story of his career in the sport and is definitely an interesting take on a book sharing his experiences. It is available on Kindle and Hardcover.

Games

Formula 1 has seen a big boom in Gaming since Codemasters took over the rights to the official game. They have created a realistic simulation with the serious F1 2012, an evolution of previous releases F1 2010 and F1 2011. It features stunning graphics and great car control, making you get a feeling for what an F1 car is really like. You can race online with friends, do a co-op championship and two types of career mode. There's also the addition of "Champions Mode" and the Young Driver Test to help get to grips with the changes. Available on Xbox 360, PS3 or PC it really is a true gaming simulation. Check out their website for prices. http://www.formula1-game.com/

However if you want something less serious and more fun, then look no further than F1 Race Stars. Another Codemasters creation that brings a Mario Kart style fun to Formula 1. You race as cartoon versions of Formula 1 drivers, racing in quick and quirky race tracks. It is aimed more at the younger generation who want to have some fun racing with friends, but adults will find it just as entertaining. Also available for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, it is a lighthearted alternative to the seriousness of the F1 2012 Simulation Game. Check out the official website for pricing and information. http://www.f1racestars.com/

Tooned

Were you a fan of McLaren and Framestore's series "Tooned" that sped on to our TV screens during the 2012 season? Well there's now a whole range of merchandise for the series, including the all the episodes from its debut series on DVD.

Head over to the official Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Website and the "Tooned" section of the store here. The presents will be perfect for your little boy or girl who loves the sport and the cartoon Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton. Or maybe your an adult who wants to watch back all 12 episodes again. At the good price of £9.95 it is certainly a good stocking filler!

Anything else you would like to add? Please comment below with some of the F1 gifts not on here that have caught your eye.

Also note that if you read this after Christmas or in 2013 then prices or availability for the products may have changed.
