Spa: Darren Heath Photography

Spa Francorchamps, a beauty nestled in the forests. With the often wet conditions, beautiful backdrop and sleek machinery the Belgian GP weekend always produces some stunning photographs.

In this article, I showcase some of Darren Heath's best images from this years Belgian GP. Darren is one of the worlds leading F1 photographers and I was fortunate enough to ask him some questions last year. See the interview here.

The Belgian GP weekend threw up a number of different conditions. On Friday the lashing rain created stunning trails behind the cars, while on Saturday and Sunday blue sky and sunshine created interesting backdrops and brightened colours. Here are a few of my personal favourites, all photographed by Darren Heath.

All of these images were taken from Darren Heath's website, from this gallery: http://www.darrenheath.com/season/2012/belgium-2012/image-gallery

This image is fantastic. I love the depth of field being focused on the flag, with the background being blurred out. It also shows the elevation changes of the Spa circuit.

This photograph emphasises the sheer speed that the cars reach along the Kemmel straight. The blurred out back ground and limited depth of field and focus mean the eye is on the car.

The lighting in this image is fantastic and the white tyre smoke brings an added factor to the photo.

This close up shot is truly genius. The water droplets create a very interesting texture and the focus is really sharp in the middle.

This photo was taken during the teams victory photo. The reflective nature of anything McLaren means that the group is doubled. You can see the vast amounts of photographers eyeing to get that money shot. The bright victory orange/red is very vibrant and makes the image very striking.
