HRT, Marussia and Williams will head to the Northamptonshire track for 2 days of testing, giving young drivers the opportunity to drive their dream car. The test will be split, with 1 day on the International circuit and one on the Grand Prix track.

Marussia revealed just days before that they are taking Max Chilton and Rio Haryanto to the test, with Chilton driving on Thursday morning and Friday afternoon. Haryanto will drive the MR-01 on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning.

Both drivers have previous F1 experience. Chilton, brother of BTCC and WTCC driver Tom Chilton, drove the Force India car in 2011. Haryanto also had 1 morning in the then Virgin car in 2010. Both drivers currently race for the Carlin GP2 team who are owned and sponsored by Marussia.

Max said "“I’m really excited to be taking part in the Young Driver Test for Marussia F1 Team. I have driven an F1 car once before - the Force India in 2011 - but I feel that with another year of GP2 competition under my belt to develop my driving further I feel much more prepared this time and eager to demonstrate that progression."

I Interviewed Max before the 2012 GP2 season, here is what he had to say.

HRT are giving Chinese driver Ma Qing Hua his first F1 experience. He will drive their car on both days of the test.

Williams are the only other team to participate in the test, the other 9 preferring the Abu Dhabi young driver test which is being held towards the end of the year. Williams will take their reserve driver and common FP1 racer Valtteri Bottas. The Finn has driven in 6 Free Practice 1 sessions this season already. He said "I’m really looking forward to the test this week. In total I’ve only had four full test days in a Formula One car alongside the FP1 sessions this season, so I really want to get some good mileage in. We have some interesting things to test this week as well as a longer race simulation planned, which, provided the weather stays good, will be a great experience for me. I’m looking forward to being able to do some longer runs in the Williams Renault FW34, as well as strengthening my relationship with the engineers."
