Lewis Hamilton will join more than 8,000 other inspirational athletes and people as he is announced as an Olympic torchbearer.
The Brit, who will race in his 6th home race of his career this weekend, will take the famous torch on its journey from Luton to Oxford.
His route will pass through Milton Keynes and Buckingham on the 9th of July, so for a close up look at the 2008 world champion be sure to go cheer him on.
It was originally planned for the 27 year old to carry the torch through his home town of Stevenage but the dates of this run clashed with his British GP timetable at Silverstone.
Talking about the opportunity he said "It will be an incredibly proud moment," said Hamilton.
"I'm so honoured to have been asked to do it. Never in a million years did I think I'd get to do something so cool. I've no idea at this stage where I'll be running, but to be selected to do my bit is a real privilege."
