Bottas remains on top in young driver test

Valtteri Bottas has predictably remained on top in the 2nd and final day of Silverstone's young driver test.

It was the 2nd day of running for the 2 of the 3 teams involved, with all the drivers who raced on the Thursday session bar HRT's Ma Qing Hua, returning for the final day.

The only difference on this day of running was that the cars took to the International Silverstone circuit, not the Grand Prix version. This meant the lap times were sub 1minutes.

Bottas set a best time of 49.241seconds and completed 62 laps in the Williams FW34. He spent the morning completing engine temperature testing before the team attached some external measuring equipment for his final run.

Rio Haryanto was 2nd fastest after his session in the afternoon. His main focus was getting over the 300km testing point so he could get his F1 super license. He did just that, completing 79 laps in the afternoon and a best time of 50.405seconds.

Max Chilton propped up the times, 8 tenths back. He lapped the International circuit 22 times in the morning session. Marussia tested a range of updates and used fluorescent aerodynamic paint to gather data.
