Bernie Ecclestone has confirmed that the Barcelona and Valencia track's in Spain will alternate as the Spanish Grand Prix from 2013 onwards.
Speaking to the DPA news agency, Ecclestone said: "Next year we'll alternate between the two." revealing that the current holders of the European Grand Prix and Spanish Grand Prix tag's will combine to create the later.
The fan's will be relieved. The Valencia track has been deemed "lacklustre" and "boring" due to its lack of flair and overtaking. The Circuit de Catalunya is a popular track but suffers the same problem, but will continue as an F1 testing venue.
The move comes as Bernie tries to find a slot for the New Jersey Grand Prix, coming onto the calendar in 2013. This could mean the European Grand Prix name could be gone from the calendar from as early as next year.
