Williams launch FW34

The Williams F1 Team have launched their 2012 challenger, the FW34, at the first Jerez test.

The launch took place in the Jerez pit lane and saw the drivers uncover the new car. The car itself features the stepped nose seen on the majority of the others. It is the first Williams to be designed since the huge technical shake up. The engine has also received a shake up, with the team moving away from Cosworth engines. Replacing them are Renault engines, with the Williams-Renault tie up coming back for the first time since the 90's.

The 2012 Williams drivers are Pastor Maldnonado, going into his 2nd full year, and Bruno Senna. It means that the Senna name returns in a Williams-Renault, this time Bruno and not Ayrton. The teams 3rd driver is Valterri Bottas.

Williams will be hoping for a change in fortune after a terrible 2011, where they only scored 5 points and finished 9th in the constructors.
