New Year's Honours for Newey and Mansell

Adrian Newey and Nigel Mansell have both been recognised on the Queen's honours list for 2012. The list was published on the last day of 2011 and congratulates both on their achievements.

Mansell will receive a CBE for his achievements working with young children and being president of the charity "Youth UK". He has already been given a OBE, Order of the British Empire, but will now be given a Commander of the British Empire role, CBE. The 1992 F1 world champion is said to be extremely honoured for this commendation.

Newey is receiving his first honour by the Queen, for his services to Motorsport. He will receive the OBE, Order Of the British Empire. The 53 year old Englishman has designed many championship winning F1 cars like Mansell's 1992 championship winning Williams and Mika Hakkinen's 1998 and 1999 winning race cars.

Newey has most recently designed the Red Bull Racing teams car's which took Sebastian Vettel to 2 world championships in 2010 and 2011.

Congratulations to them both, well deserved British talent.
