Brundle signs for Sky Sports

Martin Brundle has signed a deal with the new F1 broadcasters Sky Sports. It is thought he will take the role of co-commentator.

Brundle, who is an ex F1 racer and Le Mans winner, confirmed the rumours Via Twitter, saying "Can confirm I'll be commentating on Sky Sports F1 in 2012. All races live on dedicated F1 channel + more tech features is what motivates me, Yes I'll be doing grid walks in the future of course, it's my trademark. It's not for me announce who else is working where from next season."

He also admitted the move is not down to money but did reveal his pay check will increase from the deal. Martin has worked for all of the past and present broadcasters, starting with ITV and then being snatched by BBC along with Ted Kravitz; pit lane reporter. He now moves to Sky with rumours also surrounding Ted Kravitz, David Croft and David Coulthards futures on the BBC. It is a big loss for the BBC F1 team and also an unusual time to confirm it, as they end an era which has spanned a short 3 years.

More news i am sure will break over the coming weeks after Sky announced days ago a full channel which will be on Sky Sports 408 dedicated to the sport. More reports are to follow, but its certain Sky have gained one of the most valuable people in F1 broadcasting.
