2014 Russian Grand Prix Thursday Snapshot

The mood in the Sochi Autodrom paddock on Thursday was sombre, following the unfortunate and sad events of the Japanese Grand Prix.

Jules Bianchi, who is currently in a critical condition in hospital following his Suzuka crash, was in the thoughts of the entire F1 circus as teams and drivers prepared for the inaugural Russian Grand Prix. 

My thoughts continue to be with Bianchi, his family and friends.

Drivers completed media sessions and walked the all-new Sochi track, while engineers and mechanics readied the cars for Russian Grand Prix first practice. Here is a look at what went on at the circuit on Thursday.

It was a difficult FIA press conference for Adrian Sutil, Daniil Kvyat, Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa, Jenson Button and Sebastian Vettel.

The 2014 F1 grid will sport "Tous avec Jules" ("all with Jules") stickers on their helmets in support of Bianchi following the Frenchman's accident.

Drivers - including Russia's Sergey Sirotkin, who will replace Esteban Gutierrez at Sauber for FP1 - spoke to broadcast and written media in the Sochi Autodrom paddock.
