Preview: 2014 Autosport International Show

Next week, the Autosport International Show – the largest of its kind in Europe – will kick off at the NEC in Birmingham.
I will be attending the show on Thursday and Friday for RichlandF1, so be sure to check out the website for lots of feature pieces from the event. Here is a preview of the show.

I have attended the event on a number of occasions and would highly recommend it. There is something for every motorsport fan, and it is a great chance to have a peak at super-expensive motoring machinery and see some of the stars from the sport.

There is certainly a lot to look forward to, with one of the highlights being the Live Action Arena. All tickets come with a free seat at the show, with Sky Sports F1 commentator David Croft and the Gadget Show’s Pollyanna Woodward hosting the hour-long experience that could easily be described as "petrolhead heaven."

Six shows will take place on Saturday and five on Sunday, with one showing on each of the two trade days. It will include supercar demos, legendary F1 machinery, celebrity interviews and more – without giving too much away.

Meanwhile there will be plenty to explore in the vast NEC halls. There will be plenty to take in, including the F1 Racing grid with all the cars from the 2013 season, a BTCC display and a special motorsport legends area dedicated to the only man to win world titles on both two and four wheels: John Surtees.

Of course, there will also be celebrity guests who will be interviewed on the AUTOSPORT stage, as well as a few special appearances at the F1 Racing area too. The likes of Martin Brundle, Andrew Jordan and Adrian Sutil will be interviewed at the show. For more information on who is attending, go here.

Fans who attend the show will also get the chance to meet the stars at the autograph signing and add to, or start, their signature collection. For Rally fans, there is a Wales Rally GB exhibition. There will be a crazy number of stalls, jam-packed full of merchandise and products, as well as giving those at the show to learn about the motorsport industry.

Tickets to the show are available to buy online here, and the ticket hotline number is: 0844 581 1420 It is open from 9am to 6pm on both Saturday and Sunday, as well as the two trade days. Paddock passes, VIP tickets and family tickets are also available.

So if you are attending the show on one of the trade days, look out for me and if you spot me (a tall, blond guy who will most likely be wearing a brightly coloured pair of chinos), then come and say hi! I hope all who attend enjoy the show and be sure to check back to this blog shortly after, where I will be writing a post on my first experience covering it.
