Reports had suggested that he visited the Ferrari factory in Maranello, but the 39-year-old is sticking with the triple world champions.

Horner signed a "multi-year" deal with the team, securing his future for the near future. The Milton Keynes squad are triple world champions and led Sebastian Vettel to all three of his drivers championships.

He has been credited as a key aspect to helping them reach the high levels of success. Along with Adrian Newey and Sebastian Vettel, many regard them as the "dream team".

A team spokesman confirmed the news of the contract extension, just four days before the launch of the teams new car.

The RB9 hopes to replicate the success of its predecessors. Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel remain at the team, making 2013 their fifth season as team mates.
