The RB8's Renault engine map will need changing for the Hungarian Grand Prix as the FIA are set to clarify the rule, leaving the Milton Keynes team with no choice.

The Red Bull team were sent to the stewards at the Hockenheim ring to explain why their engine maps were using reduces torque at mid rpm range. The FIA are set to change the rule on engine mapping to stop this, putting the team in the position of a forced engine map change.

The FIA could lay down a limit to the amount of torque that can be used in a rev range, to stop what Red Bull are doing. Red Bull found benefit from the lower torque at mid rpm range by minimising wheel spin, pumping more gas into the engine and creating aerodynamic benefit.

Christian Horner said at Hockenheim  "Unfortunately, when you have a quick car, it's inevitable that questions are asked, F1 is a competitive business.
"The rules are pretty black and white and having looked at the evidence, the data, they [the stewards] were fully satisfied. That's the nature of Formula 1 at the end of the day. Of course, you are always going to get other teams that are going to speculate."
