The Marussia F1 Team had high hopes for pushing forward in 2012, but have already run into set backs, just a few weeks away from the 1st race.
The team were due to participate in the final winter test session of 2012 on Thursday 1st of March with their new MR01 2012 spec car, but they will be unable to participate. This is because the MR01 has failed its last of 18 crash tests, meaning it will not be able to be driven. It has passed 17 of the FIA's scrutinised crash tests but failed the last one.
They are now looking at solving the problem and getting it ready for the first race in Australia, with no winter test running.
The team said "Marussia is disappointed to confirm that the planned first test of its 2012 race car, the MR01, has been delayed as a consequence of not passing the final FIA crash test. The team will now not take part in the final pre-season test in Barcelona later this week, and will instead focus its efforts on repeating the crash test at the end of the week."
It is also unclear if the HRT team will debut their 2012 car at the 3rd winter test session, held at the Circuit de Catalunya, after their 2012 car failed one of the tests. This meant they did not participate in the 2nd test and it is still unclear if they will be ready for the final winter testing session, having now passed all the FIA tests.
