Toro Rosso have today (14th December 2011) unveiled their line up for the 2012 season. It was quite a shock when I arrived home from school to see that both their current drivers, Jaime Alguersuari and Sebastian Buemi, have been replaced.

Red Bull's Junior team Toro Rosso have revealed their driver line up for 2012, with a number of F1 fans shocked by the decision. Sebastian Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari have been replaced by HRT driver Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne; who has tested for the team on numerous occasions.
Both drivers are part of the Red Bull development programme so its no surprise they have plucked their line up from there, but what is surprising to me is that Jamie Alguersuari finds himself without a drive. As I wrote in an article for the Final Sector Abu Dhabi Preview, I thought he really proved himself within the team and had some strong results. Ex-F1 commentator James Allen even admitted on Peter Windsor's web show "The Flying Lap" that Jamie was his 5th best driver.
This leaves the questions "where do they go now?" I feel Alguersuari's talents would be wasted at a team like HRT, rumours are already surfacing on a move to the team, but it would keep him in the F1 circle. Buemi's future is also unknown, with limited seats in the sport i guess he has just not proved himself.
We will see in the next few months but it does not look good for these guys, but for Jean-Eric Vergne, meaning another Frenchman on the grid, and Ricciardo its a big step forward.
